INSTALLING AND RUNNING C&C GOLD ON WINDOWS XP

Follow the instructions below to install and play C&C GOLD

Preparing to Install        安装前的准备（注意要先把下载来的刻成盘，至少官方是这么说的）
1.        Insert either C&C disc into your CD drive          二选一，放入光驱
2.        Open My Computer and explore the CD              
3.        Right click either the install.exe or setup.exe           在install.exe 或者setup.exe上点右键
4.        select PROPERTIES                 选属性
5.        Select the COMPATIBILITY tab         选兼容性
6.        Check the check box for “Run this program in compatibility mode for”        选用兼容模式运行这个程序
7.        Select WINDOWS 95 from the drop down menu                 选Win95
8.        Click APPLY then OK             点确定
9.        Double click the .exe file you just modified to launch it          双击这个改好的EXE

Installing the Game     安装游戏
1.        When you’re prompted to update DirectX, uncheck the check boxso you won’t install it.  It is extremely important not to install thisDirectX update                    把升级DirectX的勾勾去掉
2.        Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation
Note: Installing Westwood Chat is not required, it can be canceled if you desire        Westwood Chat 可以不装

Installing the Patch       安装补丁
1.        Visit ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/ccgold and download CCGOLDXPPATCH.ZIP          下载补丁
2.        Unzip the files and copy thipx32.dll into the installdirectory of the game (default path is c:\WESTWOOD\C&C95).  You mayoverwrite the old version of the .dll file                用里面的 thipx32.dll 覆盖游戏文件夹里的原始文件

Preparing to Run the Game           准备运行游戏
1.        Go to the install directory of the game (default path is c:\WESTWOOD\C&C95)
2.        Right click C&C95.exe                右击C&C95.exe
3.        Select PROPERTIES                   选属性
4.        Select the COMPATIBILITY tab           选兼容性
5.        Check the check box for “Run this program in compatibility mode for”          选用兼容模式运行这个程序
6.        Select Windows 95 from the drop down menu        选Win95
7.        Check the check box for “Disable visual themes”       选“禁用视觉样式”
8.        Check the check box for “Turn off advanced text services for the program”         选“为这个程序关闭高级文字服务”
9.        click APPLY then OK      确定

Playing the Game          玩游戏
1.        Select Start > All Programs > Westwood > Command& Conquer 95 > Command & Conquer Windows 95 Edition. Ordouble click C&C95.exe located in the install directory (defaultpath is c:\WESTWOOD\C&C95)         这个不用多说了

*Command & Conquer is not online compatible（此遊戲不支持網絡連綫模式） （其實還是支持的，不過現在要通過第三方軟件來實現了吧）
